I have been sourcing African beads for 25 years. Sadly, the antique portion of the dealer’s tables gets smaller every time I go to a show. Sooner than I want to think about, they will be gone. And honestly, there is nothing like them! There is no comparison between today’s African beads and the beads found from prior centuries. Case in point, this amazing strand of lusciousness. The lime/citron color of these millefiori beads is a color I haven’t yet seen - and that’s saying something! Add in the very unusual combination of brick red, old, Venetian trade beads and you have got yourself something far more valuable than a fistful of little diamonds - trust me.
